Sheka | Ethiopia
Tasting Notes: Lemon Lime Soda | Violet | Luminous
Natural Ethiopian coffees are always so fun to get in and then share with all of you. This one is no different, if you are looking for an adventurous and bright morning cup of coffee that might make you run faster (more on that later), the Sheka is for you!
This lot comes to us from the legendary Haile Gebreselassie—yes, that Haile—who’s poured his passion into the highlands of Sheka as deeply as he once did into distance running. Turns out, he can do it all. Grown on his single farm in the lush forests of Yeppo, this natural-process heirloom bursts with vibrance and clarity.
At 1680–1875 meters above sea level, cherries are handpicked between September and November, then dried slowly over 2–3 weeks at the Yeppo processing station. The result? A cup that’s luminous—bright and electric, like lemon-lime soda, softened by floral notes of violet and the grounding depth of forest terroir.
The farm spans 1500 hectares, with 850 planted in coffee and 200 reserved for native forest preservation. Fully organic and deeply intentional, this coffee is a reminder that when nature, craft, and vision come together, the cup sings.
Wether you are using the Sheka to energize your next run (and maybe a new marathon PB) or just enjoying the vibrant complexity of it, we hope you enjoy!
